Your coaching journey: What and where now?

It can be daunting to end a coaching relationship, especially if you have had a significant number of sessions with your coach. Your coach has been there as a kind of safety net, keeping you on the right track. It will be normal to be nervous about what will come next.

However, during the coaching you will have learned many things. You will have now a much increased awareness of what you want, who you are, what are your strengths, blind spots.

You will have learned that you can achieve because you should have already achieved a lot with the coaching you had.

Lastly, the coaching has allowed you to build your confidence. Take that new found confidence, nurture it and be aware of it when you tackle, on your own, your next goal.

You should by now be your own coach. The questioning and tools your coach has used and that you have learned are there for you to use anytime. Are you ready? Go ahead, make the life you want to have. You have your support network, as mentioned in a previous post and if you get stuck, your coach is there for a helping hand. But try yourself first, don’t become dependent on a coach, even on the best one in the world.

Votre parcours de coaching : Options et actions

J’ai parlé dans les blogs précédents de l’importance de maîtriser vos buts et objectifs. Cela signifie que vous êtes la seule personne à pouvoir les réaliser pleinement.

La responsabilité est sur vous. Cela peut sembler intimidant et effrayant et votre coach est là pour vous accompagner dans votre voyage vers vos objectifs.

Cependant, sachez que la plupart du travail vers vos objectifs est en fait accompli en dehors des séances de coaching. Pendant les séances de coaching, votre coach vous aidera à identifier vos options vers vos objectifs et vous encouragera à être aussi ouvert d’esprit que possible. Recherchez vos options partout, dans tous les domaines de votre vie. Notez-les toutes, aussi fantaisistes qu’elles puissent paraître au premier abord. La prochaine étape consistera à analyser ces options :

Quelles seraient les plus faciles à réaliser ? L’accomplissement est un grand motivateur.
Quelles seraient les plus rapides à réaliser ? Recherchez les gains rapides.
Lesquelles apporteraient le meilleur investissement vers vos objectifs ? Le résultat le plus élevé par rapport à l’effort et au temps investi dans cette option.
Dans quelle mesure êtes-vous motivé pour réaliser ces options ? Choisissez celle qui vous interpelle le plus; vous êtes plus susceptible de l’accomplir. Écoutez votre cœur et votre instinct lors de l’examen de vos options. N’utilisez pas seulement votre cerveau pour décider.

L’étape suivante consiste à transformer vos options en actions :

Qu’est-ce que vous allez faire exactement ? Soyez aussi précis que possible avec une description détaillée des étapes à suivre jusqu’à la fin de l’action.
Quand allez-vous le faire ? Engagez-vous et prenez votre responsabilité.
Où allez-vous la faire ? Si c’est important.
Qu’est-ce qui pourrait entraver la réalisation de l’action ? Pensez aux obstacles et concevez des stratégies pour les surmonter.

Une fois que vous avez conçu et planifié vos actions, vous pouvez sortir de la séance de coaching, retourner dans votre vie quotidienne et accomplir vos actions. Votre coach est là pour célébrer votre succès avec vous et vous aider lorsque vous rencontrez des problèmes pour terminer vos actions.

Your coaching journey: Options and actions

I talked in previous posts about being in control of your goals and objectives. It means you are the only one who can fully make them happen.

The responsibility is on you. It may feel daunting and scary and your coach is here to support you on your travel towards your goals.

However, be aware that most of the work towards your goals is actually done outside the coaching sessions. During the coaching sessions, your coach will help you identify your options towards your goals and encourage you to be as open minded as you possibly can.

Look for options everywhere, in all areas of your life. Write them all down, however fanciful they may seem at first. The next step will be to analyse these options:

Which ones would be the easiest to achieve? Achieving is a great motivator.
Which ones would be the quickest to achieve? Look for quick wins.
Which ones would bring the best investment towards your goals? The highest result in relation to the effort and time of completing this option.
How motivated are you to achieve these options? Choose the most appealing one to you; you are more likely to work on them. Listen to your heart and your gut when reviewing your options. Don’t just use your brain.

The next step is to turn your options into actions:

What are you exactly going to do? Be as specific as possible with detailed description of the steps you need to take until the action is completed.
When are you going to do it? Commit and be accountable.
Where are you going to do? If it matters.
What could be in the way of carrying out the action? Think of obstacles and design strategies to overcome them.

Once you have your actions designed and all planned, you can go out of the coaching session, back into your daily life and complete your actions. Your coach is here to celebrate your success with you and help you when you hit problems to complete your actions.
